Mr. Morgan writes:

"Attached is a picture showing part of the Washington # 1 TOC (Wash 1.) The picture was taken at 2AM sometime in January 1965, I had just finished a major after COB (close of business) maintenance routine on some video facility or equipment."

"The video that you can just make out on the monitor was provided courtesy of WCBS New York. This was the same video that they broadcast in New York City. Their after hours movie feeds became the largest unofficial TV network in the country. It was fed to all AT&T TOC's and intermediate switch locations (and many local TV stations). (It was provided only to 'maintain continuity and to check the circuits'. We NEVER watched the movies.)"

"WCBS frequently showed the same old movies. At one time I actually called WCBS and offered to buy their copy of Sylvia Sydney in 'The American Tragedy', just to keep them from showing it another time. To my surprise, they actually stopped showing it."
