Atwood was an auxiliary (relay) station on AT&T's first transcontinental microwave route. In the photo below, the camera is looking east. The horns on the left (north) are aimed at the short tower at Peetz, CO, and the horns looking at the camera are aimed west at the Fort Morgan site, which is stripped bare.
